Plasma Cutting
Like flame cutting, plasma cutting is another thermal-based machining technique. Unlike flame cutting, it uses an electric arc to ionize gas passing through a narrow opening. This raises the temperature of the gas until it becomes the fourth state of matter: plasma. Plasma is not limited to steel as it can be used in most electrically conductive materials. This technique, on the other hand, is more limited in the thickness of material it can cut, maxing out at 1.25” for aluminum and 2” for stainless and steel.
Our high resolution plasma table has an impressive 10' x 30' surface area and can cut thicker materials than laser cutting allows. With a cutting speed of up to 500 inches per minute, your project will be machined efficiently and with a high quality cutting edge. Our nesting software that accepts DXF and DWG files allows for more accurate quoting which means significant cost savings plus our lead times are the best in the industry.
